Town Planning Resource Person- Andhra Pradesh Urban Services for the Poor (APUSP) (Municipal Administration Department) Government of Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad, Since 2006 to March’ 2008.

APUSP is a partnership project between the Government of Andhra Pradesh and the Department of International Development (DFID), Government of UK, aimed at achieving sustained reduction in the vulnerability and poverty of the urban poor in Andhra Pradesh. The Seven Year Project was launched in 2000 covering 32 class I towns (with a population exceeding 100000) and is expected to benefit approximately 2.8 million slum dwellers. After mid term review, the project coverage has been extended to 42 towns of Andhra Pradesh

Ø Support and assist the Municipalities in updating of maps on regular basis, identification of     potential GIS applications and implementation of these Applications
Ø Support GIS base mapping, Property and Utility mapping
Ø Quality check review on the output of the GIS work carried out by external agencies and assesses     performance against TOR.
Ø Participate in the development of City wide and departmental GIS Plans
Ø Training/Exchanges between municipalities regarding implementation
Ø Research - trends, technologies related to GIS
Ø Research review and prepare source documents for data entry
Ø Lease with Key State Agencies
Ø Meet with information systems.
Ø Practical proposals to improve information management in Municipalities

And Identification of Non-Notified Slums to Notified Slums by CDMA

The main objective of this application is to develop an online version

of existing standard application developed by M/s. Asci to organize a centralized data base for large special data & Municipal GIS and to provide privilege based access for updating and editing.

Internet delivery of Geographic information and a comprehensive GIS functionality will be provided. The Project will aim at reducing depending on any commercial software at the client end and will suggest a suitable networking environment, Hardware and Software requirement.

The object of the above project is generating the Municipal information along with the base map relating to household properties, property tax information and other information related to municipal activities. The information system also helps Municipal Authorities easy in collection of bills. Using high-resolution satellite data (IKONOS) generates the base map.

Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board has initiated a world bank funded Industrial Pollution Prevention Project for identifying the future developmental industrial zones along the growth corridor as per Vision 2020. The data generated in this project is also useful to the other seven sectorial departments. Around 31 thematic Integrated and Derived layers were prepared under this project. For this IRS 1C, 1D 3 season data has been used.

The main aim of this Project is to provide drinking water where the villages were not covered or partially covered. For this the client has supplied the data of IRS-1C/ID. The Ground water prospects map shows the morphological features of the area, litho logy, structures and hydrological information including irrigated areas and existing well information collected during the limited field checks. The final map shows all such above information for targeting the potential areas.

This project consists of different Tahsil, Villages, Records and creating a database in excel at last joining the database from excel to Arc info. Editing of all items and joining the database as per the specifications given by Tata Chemicals Limited and finally preparing softcopy in e00 format.
